I own EF 70-200L/2.8 IS II which overall is excellent and probably still the best one overall in current market but vulnerable to the new FE 70-200GM (wait and see). Tamron 70-200/2.8 VC is close and likely has the best value. I prefer the EF 1.4x III Extender for its wider aperture range and much smaller size and image quality from the EF 1.4x III is very close to what you get from the lens unaided.I already own the Canon 70-200 2.8 II. The question is, what will give me sharper images: (1) Tamron 150-600 or (2) the Canon 70-200 2.8 II + Canon Extender EF 2X III. Obviously, buying the extender would be a lot cheaper and lighter than carrying around another heavy zoom. Neither of the RF 70-200s are compatible with teleconverters at all. If it's an EF one, then you could use one of the EF teleconverters, but not the RF ones. If it is an RF lens, you should consider getting the RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM instead. Many reviewers of the EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II say that it even takes an EF 2X III extender rather well with minimal color fringing and CA compared to other lenses when used with the same extender.
