Whatever you like, there are options out there. For a cheaper entry level joystick, the Logitech Extreme Pro 3D Joystick or Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X Flight Stick are affordable choices. For mid-tier joysticks and throttles, the Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS HOTAS and the CH Products Pro Throttle USB are both decent.

Thx, I went with a 2nd 3DX, I never touched a HOSTAS before and dont want to deal with sending it back if its too cheap feeling.
It happened to me that I bind kb+m and a controller for the SRV but if it couldn't find the controller, the default controls were set and in the logs was "Missing devices: Gamepad". So check it out, might be something fixable! Just unplug the usb cables, and plug them in, remembering which one is plugged first. JOYSTICK - Compatibility with CLOUD GAMING and STREAMING. •. The T.Flight Hotas One provides the same level of realism. The joystick's realistic, ergonomic design is perfectly adapted to all types of flight (aerial combat, space adventure, civil flight, etc.). The wide hand-rest helps gamers keep their hand in a very stable and relaxed position, allowing the stick to react to even subtle movements. 4-way hat switch on the joystick works best for me. I then use hold-to-modify buttons on the joystick base to switch the hat between head-look, targeting or power management. * I use a 8 button+throttle MS sidewinder joystick with the essential combat controls on it, and use the keyboard for UI and non-critical ship functions.

"Elite Dangerous" and "Elite_Dangerous" I guess the one with the underscore is the wrong one Because I did what Mu77ley said and nothing happened. So.. is safe to delete that one? Yo know to avoid confusion. Search that folder for any save files, if the save files are in there then DON'T delete it. If they aren't, then you can delete it. Also known as a hand-on-stick-and-stick (HOSAS) setup, I found that it completely changed the flight experience in both Star Citizen’s Persistent Universe and Elite Dangerous. Explaining the

I am also a 60+yo Commander and do not have my Warthog HOTAS fully sorted for Elite Dangerous either, mainly because it is so much more complex than using an Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. And since the SEM and GA modules work from the same joystick, there will be much more buttons. VKB Software can create virtual controllers, but this only works when only the SEM module is connected, when connecting
TL;DR: Personally, using a T-Flight HOTAS X made huge difference between barely controlable and enjoyable, but it all comes down to the individual comfort and intuition. If you're struggling with mouse and keyboard, then you might want to consider getting HOTAS (or a 360 controller, or dual joysticks). 3.
